Mackinaw Area Historical Society Welcomes New Board Member

MACKINAW CITY, MI — The Mackinaw Area Historical Society (MAHS) is excited to announce the appointment of Carla Gargas to its Board of Directors. With extensive experience in organizational leadership and customer-focused excellence Carla brings a wealth of expertise that will support MAHS as it continues its mission to preserve and celebrate the region’s history, including the beloved Heritage Village and May Woods natural area.

Carla is the founder and driving force behind Gargas Project Solutions (GPS), where she has cultivated deep expertise in building efficient processes, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and helping organizations deliver impactful results. Her background in project management and operational strategy equips her with a unique perspective that will be invaluable to MAHS’s strategic growth and community engagement efforts.

Carla’s leadership will contribute to MAHS’s continued success in maintaining and enhancing its historic offerings — from the immersive experiences at Heritage Village, where visitors can explore life in the Straits area during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, to the serene trails of May Woods that encourage outdoor exploration year-round.
